Gates EX1 Video Housings Gates EX1 Video Housings at Marine Visions Inc. The Gates video housing for the Sony PMW-EX1 will be shipping very soon. We expect to be able to ship housings from our location, the first week in July! Comprehensively endowed with pro features, the Gates EX1 Housing is engineered for the discriminating professional. Adjustable handles provide perfect grip and fingertip access to over 20 different functions. Flexible trim weights allow for ideal buoyancy and trim. Precision ports and optional EM43 high resolution monitor afford the sharpest HD images. Gates EX1 Video Housing for the Sony PMW-EX1 The SXS cards and battery can be replaced without removing the camera from the housing. Just remove the back of the housing and the cards and batteries are easily accessed. **Gates has employed 4 and 8 oz trim weights on the EX1 housing that can be added/removed as needed for just the right buoyancy. Remove them as you add lights/monitor/tripod/etc. You can even move them forward/aft for trim, and top/bottom if you desire for changing the center of gravity. It's intended to be very flexible and configurable. The Gates EX1 now has a vastly improved camera tray. No more tools required to mount the camera and the tray locks into place with two rotating latches. Slick and easy. This feature is pictured to the right. The top picture shows the locking mechanism in the open position and the bottom picture shows the mechanism locked in place. The camera mount plate also has two alignment brackets at the back of the plate and the housing has an alignment collar mounted in the front of the housing. This ensures that your camera will always be aligned correctly. Marine Visions - March Newsletter Exciting news for March at Marine Visions Inc. This month is proving to be very exciting for underwater photographers and videographers alike. Gates, Sea and Sea, Nexus, Light and Motion and Ikelite all have new and exciting housings and accessories available, including new SLR housings from Sea and Sea, Nexus and Ikelite as well as, the new modular port system from Ikelite. Gates, Light and Motion and Amphibico have all confirmed that their respective housings for the Sony HDR-HC7 are all compatible with the new Sony HDR-HC9. Gates Underwater Products is currently developing underwater video housings for the Red One Cinema Camera, which will be available in late 2008, and for the Sony PMW-EX1, which will be available in June 2008. Sea and Sea Sea and Sea MDX-D300 housings are now shipping and will be in-stock on Weds, March 12th. The MDX-40D, MDX-D3 and MDX-MKIII housings are also shipping. All of these housings feature control for almost all the camera functions and have a wide variety of ports and accessories available. Gates Gates HC5/HC7/HC9 housings are in-stock! Gates recently confirmed that the HC7 housing is also compatible with the new Sony HDR-HC9. Click here for details. We also currently have Gates XH A1 housings for the Canon XH A1 in-stock, as well as the Gates housing for the Sony HDR-FX7 and HVR-V1U. Gates housings for the Red One Cinema camera and the Sony PMW-EX1 will be avaiable later this year. Light and Motion The Light and Motion Bluefin HC7 has also been confirmed to be compatible with the new Sony HDR-HC9. The monitor back for these housings are scheduled to start shipping in mid-March. We also have Stingray HD housings in stock and the Sunray 1000 LED lights are shipping now! We are also expecting the Sunray 2000 LED lights to begin shipping in April. Ikelite Ikelite housings for the Olympus E-3 are scheduled to begin shipping in Late March. Ikelite's new modular port system is also scheduled to begin shipping in the next week. These new ports will make an excellent addition to Ikelite's line of ports. Ikelite has also announced that their video housings for the Sony HDR-HC7 are compatible with the HDR-HC9 and the Canon HV20 housing is compatible with the new Canon HV30. Nexus We still have Nexus housings for the Canon 400D (Rebel Xti), In-Stock! Nexus housing for the Olympus E-3 are now shipping. Details on the available ports will be available soon.
